Care and Washing
CARE and WASHING OF TEXTILE GARMENTS
Advice :
- HOW EVERY TIME TO WASH : For hygienic/health reasons we suggest washing the sheets, duvet covers and sponges at least every week while the quilts every change of season following the instructions indicated on the label. This is because inside, as in any textile garment, day after day, quantities of bacteria are created that can alter the state of well-being.
- HOW TO WASH THEM : place sheets inside the duvet cover bag or an upturned pillowcase helps to reduce the dots and keep the colors more vivid and homogeneous. The creases (crease effect on the printed or dyed fabric) can form following the rubbing of the garment on the walls of the washing machine and dryer as well as with other garments inserted in the wash. For quilted items, dry cleaning is preferable, otherwise insert them leaving the bottom side of the quilt running on the walls of the basket and thus protecting the design inside.
- WASHING MACHINE LOAD : not too loaded and if you want to wash a double quilt the basket must be at least 20kg, no smaller. Always with a gentle spin, no salt, not too much softener which irritates the skin and contrasts the natural pH, use preferably liquid detergents and the specific wash program for each fiber (cotton, linen, synthetics, etc.). Do not use bleach.
- TEMPERATURES : from 40° to 60° maximum depending on the fabrics, colors and finishes. For example, light-coloured cotton sheets without lace finishes, embroidery or inserts can be washed at 60°, on the contrary in the case of dark colors and/or with the presence of the aforementioned finishes it is mandatory not to exceed 40 °.
- DRYING : Better to use the dryer with the trick of inserting some tennis balls to ensure greater softness and less wrinkling of the fabrics. The dryer is ideal for towels and sheets because it keeps them softer, even if it reduces their life cycle, while it should not be used for quilts. If, however, you prefer to hang the fabrics in the open air, be careful not to leave them under prolonged and continuous exposure to sunlight which can lead to discoloration of the products.
- IRONING : for garments made of natural fibres, iron at a medium temperature, while for synthetic garments we absolutely do not recommend ironing. Always iron inside out, especially dark colors, to avoid leaving shiny marks.
ALWAYS PAY CAREFUL WHEN HANDLING JACQUARD TERRY AND SATIN ITEMS DUE TO THE RISK OF PULLING THE THREADS.
