Don't miss the last few days of sale!

  1. How warm is your bedroom? Choose Grammage-Weight.
  2. Which size is right? Measure the mattress
  3. How much space do you have to store the item in the warm months? Consider the volume of the garment
  4. What expenses have you budgeted for? Think about your budget
  5. Do you have allergies? Opt for the best Breathability
  6. For good hygiene? Better convenient for washing with washing machine and dryer
  7. Ecological or of animal origin? What is pet-friendly and recycled PET

  1. Padding in general does not create heat but rather has the function of protecting your warm body from the cold external temperature by creating an insulating layer of air. The more air trapped in the padding, the more heat the padding will be able to retain.
  2. The grammage-weight per m2 indicates the capacity of the padding to be inflated, ranging from 100 to 300g/m2.
  3. The weight  must be appropriately chosen considering the temperature of the room.
  4. Light duvets (100g/m2) are suitable for a temperature between 18 and 22°, medium duvets (200g/m2) are suitable for a temperature between 15 and 18° and warm duvets (300g/m2) are recommended for rooms heated around 15°.
  5. A good compromise for any period of the year are the duvets called quattrostagioni , made up of two duvets that join together, a light one for summer and a medium one for mid-seasons. Obviously hooked together, they are also perfect for winter and cool rooms.
  6. The Measurements: to be well covered your duvet must have an addition of 30-50 cm on each side of the bed. It is therefore advisable to choose the duvet based on the size of the mattress. For a standard double you will need, for example, a duvet of at least 250x200 cm and, obviously, a duvet cover that keeps it protected from dust and clean, slightly larger, so as to make it easy to insert the padding at every change and wash . Therefore the duvet cover bag should be at least 255 cm in width, with buttons on the bottom or a comfortable elongated flap to fold under the mattress to keep the bag and padding firmly in place.
  7. Naturally, in addition to the white padding which requires protection with a bag to keep it clean and called a duvet cover, there is the quilt : a decorative bedspread padding, dyed or printed, which does not require the use of a duvet cover and which offers good thermal guarantees, economy and practicality. The lightweight quilted bedspread (100gr) is ideal for the spring season or very warm bedrooms. The quilt (300gr) is ideal for the cold seasons.
  8. There  Feather of animal origin has been considered the padding par excellence for decades, in fact we talk about duvets, duvets and duvet covers. Feather is an excellent insulator as it is capable of trapping a lot of air inside and goose down is decidedly light but to be a good insulator it must also be voluminous.
  9. How much space do you have for off-season storage?
  10. Goose down tends to be more expensive than synthetic as collecting the raw material is a more laborious process whether the geese are plucked alive or not.
  11. The synthetic padding is pet-friendly , not of animal origin but rather produced by man, therefore artificial.
  12. It is very versatile, retains heat well, even in sportswear, as synthetic is incredibly more breathable than down, and is much more suitable for "active" use on the move. The synthetic fiber combined with the use of natural fiber material such as cotton for the lining promotes breathability, ideal for allergic situations as well as of course the use of hypoallergenic fibres . The lining is a very important element of the duvet. Its role is to prevent the down or fiber from coming out of the comforter.
  13. Happidea  has opted for a 100% natural cotton covering which allows the duvet to pass air correctly and not retain humidity, avoiding direct contact with synthetic fibers which may not be tolerated by allergy sufferers, particularly sensitive to the presence of artificial fibers in contact with the skin.
  14. The maintenance of your duvet is  recommended  with one or two washes a year or in any case as needed. Let's think about small children, the cot and the cradle. Happidea has thought of them too. With hypoallergenic duvets covered in natural cotton. It is therefore preferable that the duvet is machine washable and can be quickly tumble dried. Synthetic duvets dry much faster and can be washed more frequently without stressing the internal padding which does not lose its shape inside the quilting cells  and therefore "cold spots" without padding are not created, guaranteeing good thermoregulation and keeping the duvet inflated evenly.
  15. This is why Happidea opted for the ecological choice. The duvets offered for adults and children are versatile, economical, easily washable, pet-friendly, because they do not pluck the geese and eco-friendly because they use  recycled PET fibre . Can they be considered an excellent cutting-edge and latest generation alternative?
