Do you know how to choose the most suitable fabric for better sleep? or simply for your home?

Below is a short guide that will introduce you to the choice of fabrics.

HOW TO CHOOSE FABRICS AND QUALITY FOR A BETTER REST

Globalization has offered us low-cost products and has therefore also accustomed us to sheets, pillowcases and quilts within the reach of every pocket, but synthetic and/or of lower quality in fibers and materials as well as in the use of dyes and chemical products which are no longer allowed in Europe.

1. NATURAL FIBERS vs SYNTHETIC FIBERS

Synthetics  they have many negative aspects, they are not breathable and make you sweat more while maintaining humidity on the body,  when washed they become more stringy and produce more pellets, rest is worse and are more polluting for the environment. (the only advantage is the ease of ironing but they are not healthy)

Natural fibres  they come from cotton, linen, in short natural products, they are more breathable, if well cared for they maintain softness and freshness and improve the quality of sleep.

2. QUALITY  &  SEASONALITY

To sleep well, the choice of materials is essential. Winter or summer, there are materials suitable for every season that provide comfort and ensure the optimal temperature during the night .

FOR SUMMER

LINEN MIX

The combination of linen and cotton allows to obtain a mixed fabric, resistant and capable of absorbing and releasing a large quantity of humidity in a short time. Linen blend sheets, in addition to being the ideal choice for lovers of natural fibres, with the right blanket, are also perfect in

Winter. If they have cotton finishes wash at 60° otherwise with lace only 40°.

COTTON MUSLIN

Light, fresh, optimal in summer, it allows maximum breathability and lightness on the skin thanks to the thin and soft yarns. Muslin sheets lie on your body providing you with the best comfort in the warm months. Wash at 40°

FOR THE WINTER

COTTON FLANNEL

Characterized by the typical furry surface on one or both sides, cotton flannel is one of the warmest and softest fabrics ever. Resistant but light, thanks to its particular workmanship it retains air well, acting as an excellent thermal insulator. For a soft and delicate hug. A good flannel has at least 40 threads cm2 but with a larger diameter than cotton cloth. Wash at 40°.

ALL THE YEAR

COTTON CANVAS

If you prefer a more uniform surface, opt for 100% pure cotton sheets. Lightweight, resistant to washing, cotton is able to absorb humidity and provide freshness in the summer months and warm well-being in the cold season. A good cotton fabric has at least 50 threads cm2. Watch out for strong colors and lace  wash at 40°

COTTON PERCALE

Cotton percale is a fabric obtained from the interweaving of thin and dense yarns, which give a velvety sensation on the skin. These sheets are more valuable than canvas, fresh and resistant. Their versatility makes them excellent for all seasons. A good Percale has at least 80 threads cm2. Watch out for strong colors and lace  wash at 40°

COTTON SATIN

Very fine, with a silk-like and uniform shiny surface, the cotton satin will make your bed shine with style. Furthermore, it is hypoallergenic and capable of regulating body temperature according to the seasons, giving you freshness in summer and warmth in winter. A good satin has at least 100 threads cm2. Attention strong colors and 40° lace
